The Village
Autignac is a sleepy, yet authentic working village, surrounded by vineyards and rolling countryside with views onto the Haut Languedoc mountains. The village has all the shops for your basic requirements, including a bakery, butchers, chemist, post office, grocery and café bar. The latter also serves great value lunches. There is a small twice weekly market with an excellent cheese stall.
The village has several areas for petanque where you can hone your skills or watch the experts.
The main charm of the village is to simply stroll around the maze of streets and to wonder at some of the beautiful properties to be seen there. Depending on the time of year, you will take in beautiful tree-lined streets, the smell of burning vine wood, and watch local wine producers going about their business. In the evening, you will be taking in ink-black skies to a backdrop of virtual silence.

Independent Comment
A beautifully renovated property combining the traditional with modern comforts, finished to a very high standard. The property is well designed for contemporary living, featuring a spacious and light south-facing living area on the first floor, with honey-coloured beamed ceiling and 3 French windows to the terrace. The furnishings are very comfortable and the high spec fixtures and fittings in the kitchen area and bathrooms are a tasteful combination of period and modern. The smartly presented bedrooms are all a good size, with imaginative use of all the second floor roof space for a light and airy feel. Outside, the very appealing large south-facing terrace overlooks the private courtyard pool, accessed by the outside staircase. A place to relax in style with a touch of luxury in a traditional village location.
