A linen and towel service is available at £7.50 per person per week. A cleaning service may be requested (subject to availability) at £30. £10 heating allowance is included within the price: logs and electricity in excess of this is chargeable at cost. These prices are based on a one or two week stay. Reductions may be negotiable for longer periods, depending on availability.

Rodes is a pretty village lying on the border of the Roussillon and the Conflent regions. It is situated adjacent to the Tet Gorge.  The property is set in a narrow street of old stone houses, yet not overlooked, possessing an airy feel due to the terraced effect of housing above the village.

The bedrooms and roof terrace have stunning views of Mount Canigou and the Tet valley looking up towards the Cerdagne.  The village with it's own restaurant, bar, epicerie and post office has retained much of it's charm and originality.  It's ideal for those who enjoy walking, exploring and relaxing in a stress free rural setting.

LOCAL AREA

From the house there are very pleasant walks to be taken along the gorge or through the peach fields.  With sandy beaches, ski slopes and historic sites nearby there's plenty to do all year round. Within 10 minutes of the village is the market town of Ille-sur-Tet with hypermarket and lots of interesting local shops bars and restaurants.  Within 15 minutes drive is the town of  Prades famous for the Pablo Casals music festival.  Mount Canigou (2785metres), Catalan’s sacred mountain, can be accessed very easily for those who need a more challenging holiday!

The Roussillon area is itself a part of a much older region called Catalonia which straddles the eastern end of the Pyrenees stretching from Beziers in the north to Barcelona in the south and gives the area a unique character (and language).  The area changed from Spanish to French rule a number of times during the middle ages thus giving Catalonia its unique culture.
