Larkfield is very easy to find between Soubes and the A75, less than a kilometre from junction 52.
The historic town of Lodève is only 5km away with supermarkets and petrol stations. The local area has much to offer and the nearby coast is one of the best anywhere. We will be pleased to give advice when we know your interests.
Outside is a large landscaped garden with lots of fruit trees and shade. The large terraced space outside the house has an eating area with a barbeque. The views are amazing at all times of the year from the house, garden, pool and terrace. There is plenty of secure off road parking.
We overlook the small historic village of Soubes, a short, pleasant walk from Larkfield. A drink (and/or snack) at the bar in the picturesque centre of Soubes will be pleasant before the walk back.
The private and secluded, salt water (much better than chlorine as it does not irritate skin or eyes) mosaic swimming pool (4m x 10m) has a wide tiled surround, barbeque and outside shower. Sun loungers are provided plus table and chairs to take drinks and food, we supply plastic plates and glasses to give added safety for all. The pool is fenced and gated for child safety reasons. Lighting, even underwater, is provided.
Accommodation
We have a mix of twin and double rooms, all on the ground floor, with wardrobes, dressing tables and bedside cabinets with reading lights. Toilet facilities are en suite, modern and comfortable. A Portable Cot is available. Rooms are large enough for a third bed, please ask for triple occupancy price.
Complimentary Tea Coffee & Cold Drinks available in the downstairs kitchenette.
In Winter, gas central heating ensures your comfort.
To respect other's comfort, smokers are requested to use the outside areas (there are suitable covered areas).
CD player, DVD and satellite television in the upstairs lounge. Linen and towels provided.
Washing machines in the outside utility room.
There are games, jigsaws and books.
In Summer we offer a barbecue either by the house or the pool.
Log fire to supplement the central heating in the upstairs apartment in Winter.
The whole house is available to book if there are no B&B customers booked.
LOCAL AREA
Nearby Soubes (walking distance) is a beautiful Hérault hill village steeped in history and medieval charm, chateaux, old roads, friendly bar and grocery store.
Lodève is a medieval town full of history with a festival, carnival and poetry reading in Summer. There are plenty of shops, market, museum and many bars and restaurants.
Local area attractions include Cirque de Labeil, Cirque de Navacelles, Grotte de Clamouse, Cirque de Mourèze, Tarn Gorge, Montpellier le Vieux and the Roquefort Caves.
Activities include hang-gliding, potholing, mountain-biking, walking, horse-riding, canoeing and river swimming. Lac de Salagou is 10 minutes away for swimming, fishing, boating and windsurfing.
The beaches are only 35 minutes, whilst day excursions can include historic Pézenas, Agde, Sete and many major sites including Carcassonne, Collioure and Narbonne.

The picturesque setting of this imposing property, with views across the hills and valley, is most appealing, providing a relaxing base for exploring the area’s many attractive sights and wide choice of activities (including walking, birdwatching, and the nearby Lac du Salagou for swimming and watersports). The ensuite bedrooms (with English tea and coffee-making facilities) are well presented, all conveniently situated on the ground floor, with a restful ambiance. Upstairs is the large lounge with panoramic views, dining room and library. The outside terrace area and garden are a pleasure for unwinding; however, it is the large secluded pool with plenty of terrace surround, also with excellent views, which may well entice you to stay for longer than you first planned!
