LOCAL AREA

Oupia is a small, friendly wine-producing village with a grocery store, post office and restaurant. The Château d'Oupia has won many gold medals for its red Minervois, Les Barons, but offers several other excellent wines as well.  All other services are in Olonzac, five minutes away.

The Minervois excels year-round in both on-road and off-road cycling and offers very good walking and bird-watching.  Easy day trips to Carcassonne, Narbonne, the Canal du Midi, Minerve and many of the Cathar castles, perched high on rocky promontories in a superb landscape of mountains and river gorges.

Independent Comment

In the heart of the picturesque Minervois region lies the peaceful village of Oupia in which you will find this most appealing property.  The owners have modernised the house to the highest of standards with a carefully thought-out design, whilst retaining the charm of the original features; the overall result is very appealing with light, open, airy rooms, south and south-west facing, with large original windows; the open plan living area includes a well equipped and very smart kitchen/dining area.  Both the house and the attractive terrace in front are secluded and your own private pool is on the terrace right outside the living area.  Excellent for relaxing and well placed for touring the area.
