The house is in a quiet street with little passing traffic. There are three bedrooms on the ground floor, one double, one twin and one single. There is also a large bathroom housing the washing machine and a separate w.c. A wooden stair case leads to the upper floor, and directly into a large vaulted lounger diner with exposed beams. Also on this level is the kitchen, (with fridge freezer, microwave and full cooker), the 140 sq. ft. terrace and a second w.c.
The upstairs lounge is quite large with wooden beams, it has a dining table large enough for 6 people, a sitting area with "click clak" sofa and two armchairs, and a television that receives English TV and radio programs.
The terrace is 140 sq. ft. in size and is large enough for all the family to enjoy al fresco meals in the sun. The terrace is accessed directly form the kitchen and from patio doors in the lounge.
The view from the terrace overlooks the village houses and vineyards of Bizanet, looking towards the Pyrenees.
We will allow up to two well behaved animals. If you want to take more then please check with us, we can be quite flexible.
The village of Bizanet is in the Corbières, Aude, gateway to the land of the Cathars. Surrounded by vines, the business of the village is producing wine for which the area is famous. The village is typical of the Languedoc, stone houses and narrow streets. It is situated 7 miles from Narbonne and close to the Mediterranean Sea, and 6 miles from the small town of Lézignan Corbières. The village is quiet, friendly with a population of around 1100. There is a general store, baker, hairdresser, pizzeria and good restaurant in the village. There are several large supermarkets in Lézignan and also huge hypermarkets in Narbonne.
Wine growing is the main industry of the village and there are many "Caves" and domaines to visit and sample local wines. This historic village can trace its wine growing roots way back to the Greeks and later the Romans. Recently, one of the local wine producers entered into a partnership with Baron Eric de Rothschild to plant new root stock, £25 million will be invested in replanting new vines in the area.
An interesting feature of the village are the Lavoirs, cold, spring fed communal washing places. The lavoirs are still used to this day by some of the women in the village to handwash their laundry.
Recently, the Lavoirs starred in a film, “Le baiser sous la cloche”, the kiss under the bell, which was shot in the village. A tale of a boy’s obsession with religion.

Independent Comment
The location of Vue Vigne is endearing. Tucked away in a quiet street in the village of Bizanet, it is an attractive traditional village house retaining its original features, whilst being tastefully renovated and well equipped for modern living. A particularly agreeable feature is the spacious open plan living area on the 1st floor which is light and airy with attractive furnishings; this leads out onto the good size sun terrace with both sunny and shaded parts and views towards the Pyrenees. Bizanet provides the convenience of local shops and facilities in a rural location, whilst also being well placed for touring and excursions to the many attractions in the region.
