Welcome to Domaine de Saint-Apolis, a rural and very picturesque hamlet just 20 minutes drive away from the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean. Surrounded by vineyards and meadows the Domaine is also home to a working wine estate.
The Domaine dates back to the Romans. The hamlet was centred around its very own natural spring that old inscriptions dedicate to the Roman Goddess Maja, mother of Mercure, God of travellers. What better omen to welcome guests here today!
Set in a haven of tranquility the gardens are the ideal place for some relaxing reading or some inspirational painting.
The cottages share access to a large (13m x 7m) swimming pool and lovely sunbathed terrace complete with lounge chairs. The perfect place to relax after a hard day's sight-seeing or simply all day long listening to the cicadas! The gardens also hide a table tennis table, a swing and mountain bikes. There is a private tennis court five minutes away.
The Cottages
The Domaine de Saint-Apolis hosts nine superb cottages with a choice of two and three bedrooms that can accommodate up to 4 and 6 people comfortably.
The cottages are perfectly blended within the traditional and authentic XVIIIth century dwellings and all hidden behind lush private gardens that ensure their own entire privacy.
They have been individually designed and decorated with their own style and character and all the essential modern comforts to ensure your perfect holiday. The sitting/living rooms are spacious and welcoming, all open onto their own private gardens.
The fully fitted kitchens have an American bar and are open plan to the living room. They are fully equipped with four hobs, traditional oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and large fridge-freezer. All the traditional utensils also there include kettle, coffee machine and the necessary cutlery.
Each cottage has one main double-bedded room and one or two extra twin-bedded bedrooms. Most of them are split into two storeys. All bedrooms have storage space for your comfort and overlook the lush gardens and surrounding traditional farming roofs.
Cot and high chair are available on request. The bathrooms (one in every "Classique" house and one for each bedroom in the "Extra" houses) have a sink and a bath tub with shower.
The first and lasting impression of the Domaine is of the luxurious vegetation and charm of each private garden where you can relax in peace after a lovely 'al fresco' meal cooked on your own barbecue!

Saint-Apolis is located only 17 kms from the Mediterranean, in the heart of all the riches of the region.
Swimming, sailing, kayaking, scuba-diving, horse riding, trekking, mountain biking, museums and archaeological sites, castles, abbeys, traditional villages, colorful markets and restaurants with superb local wines and specialities for you to discover!
Key local area attractions include historic Pézenas; the picturesque old town of Agde and its vibrant modern resort of Cap d’Agde with its Aqualand waterpark; Béziers, the nearest large town; the fishing port of Sête and Narbonne, a major centre since Roman times.
Historic places further afield include Pont du Gard, Avignon, Nîmes, Arles, Montpellier, Carcassonne and Perpignan and for nature lovers the Camargue is only 1½ hours away.
